Why this site exists
Hugh Ross has persuaded many Christians that the Bible and the scientific record require an old earth and a creation account spanning billions of years. We hold that a young-earth reading of Genesis remains defensible, and that the right way to defend it is to answer the strongest form of each specific claim — not to ignore evidence, and not to caricature the position being examined.
How each response is built
Every response here takes one claim, or one connected family of claims. It states what Hugh Ross argues in its strongest form, cites what he cites with a locator a reader can follow, and keeps four things visibly separate: what is observed, what depends on a model, what is philosophical inference, and what the Bible actually teaches. Sources are documented so readers can check them, and when a correction is needed it is published rather than swallowed — see the corrections log.
Respect, criticism, and what this site will not do
We write about arguments, not about people. Hugh Ross is a brother in Christ, and he is treated as one here: strong criticism is aimed at reasoning, evidence, interpretation, and conclusions — never at motives, character, sincerity, or intelligence. This site does not question anyone’s salvation, does not sensationalize, and does not invent “gotchas.”
